W-L’s favorite local restaurants
In Arlington, good food is generally not difficult to find. However, sometimes inspiration fails to strike. Here are a few of the W-L community’s favorite places to eat in Arlington.
If pizza is in the cards, try Rustico Restaurant or Pupatella Pizza. Rustico Restaurant is a tavern-style restaurant with their menu featuring pizza, in addition to burgers and sandwiches. “There was a nice warm atmosphere. Customer service was excellent and the food was great,” said administrative assistant for IB Program Ms. Ebony Wanzer. Pupatella’s Neapolitan-style pizza is definitely their claim to fame, although their menu includes salads, panini and other dishes. English teacher Ms. Caroline Headley said, “I had the best pizza in my life there.”
For many different types of food, Liberty Tavern is a go-to for many locals. They feature two floors, each with its own atmosphere, and their menu features seafood, chicken wings, pizza in addition to many others. Liberty Tavern is owned and operated by the same person as Northside Social, a favorite coffeehouse located just across the street. However, Liberty Tavern is primarily a meal-oriented business that places emphasis on ambiance. “The atmosphere is nice,” said administrative assistant Ms. Eileen Cutrona. “There was nice variety on the menu and it was very moderately priced.”
Seafood and music are both included in Sushi Rock. They host special events, including sake tastings and Halloween parties just to name a few. Despite the name, their menu includes much more than just sushi. “It’s where I had my first date with my boyfriend,” world history teacher Ms. Abrianna Nelson said. “My family also goes there, and I love sushi.”
Arlington has many terrific local restaurants and these are only a few. Next time you feel like trying something new, consider Rustico’s and Pupatella’s pizzas, Liberty Tavern’s vast variety of food or Sushi Rock’s sushi and myriad of performances.
